Sunshine & Caffeine is a daily reminder of all the little wonders in life that make us happy. Sometimes we get so caught up in the hectic rollercoaster of such “grown-up” tasks as work, chores, and family obligations, that we completely forget to slow down and catch our breath. Although you can without a doubt pat yourself on the back for being a responsible adult and for dominating the work-home-bills-chores cycle with the grace and elegance of a Moscow Ballet dancer,  you begin to forget how to be joyous with of the smallest things. Just think how many hours of delight can rocks or water sprinklers bring to a child (why yes, I did grow up pretty poor).

Such simple, yet extraordinary, things as a reflection of sunrise in a drop of dew or a perfectly prepared cup of good java can instantly make our day – that is, if we notice them. So here’s your invitation to slow down and smell the roses. Or coffee, if you so prefer. There are always things to be thankful for.
